The best spots in Italy for a honeymoon: reach them onboard a Ferrari F8 spider.

26 March 2021

Before pointing out some of what we deem are the best cities in Italy for a honeymoon, let's reveal a curiosity. Do you know why the honeymoon - which generally takes place in the days immediately following the religious or civil celebration of the wedding - is called a honeymoon? Have you also thought that it is strange to associate the moon with honey? In reality, they don't seem to have much in common. Yet many people refer to it as honeymoon: in French, it is called "Lune de Miel", the Spanish call it "Luna de Miel", the Italians "Luna di Miele" and the Arabs "Shahr el 'Assal".

If everyone talks about it as such, and if there are so many searches carried out on the best honeymoon locations in Italy, there must be a reason! Well, the term moon seems to refer to the first month of marriage, but honey? There is no doubt: the evocative meaning refers to the sweetness that should characterize the first period of the two newly married lovebirds. But this is still not enough! Some argue that the whole expression indicates the wedding night and, by extension, the very first moments of married life as sweet as they are fleeting (why fleeting? Because with time the initial happiness is generally destined to disappear gradually): according to a legend dating back to ancient Rome, spouses spent their wedding night eating honey and this is why we call it a honeymoon today.

After all this necessary romance, let's move on and see immediately together what could be, in our opinion, the best places to spend a honeymoon in Italy to reach by renting a Ferrari F8 spider: a prodigy of technology, with the most performing V8 engine ever with a design of rare elegance. We can let you find it where and when you prefer: before departure, upon your arrival at your destination, airport, or hotel.

All you need to do is make your wish: we are here to ensure that your 2 weeks of honeymoon in Italy - but nothing prevents them from being seven or ten days of honeymoon in Italy, or as many as you want! - are truly unique and unforgettable and that they can end up in the album of your best memories.

The best place to stay in Italy for a honeymoon: our favorite is to enjoy them on board a Ferrari F8 Tributo spider.

We will probably surprise you, but we will not direct you to the standard honeymoon destinations in Italy par excellence, namely Venice and Verona, the latter is considered the city of lovers since the time of Romeo and Juliet.

In Verona, you would use it, but in Venice, your F8 spider Ferrari would be of little use! So follow us in what we believe is one of the best honeymoon destinations in Italy.

There is a place, in the south of Tuscany, there is a land of sinuous hills, suggestive ancient villages, avenues of cypresses, vineyards, olive groves, and, scattered here and there, medieval castles. This is Val d’Orcia, a land of rare beauty and a protected nature reserve listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. Nature is the star here, sporting a riot of different colors in different seasons and acting as the source of inspiration for many painters, especially during Renaissance, and, in more recent times, as a set for internationally renowned films, such as ‘The English Patient ’ and ‘Gladiator’.

We think there are very few romantic honeymoon destinations in Italy that can compete with these places, of rare and incomparable beauty.

Where to spend your honeymoon in Italy in Val d'Orcia: rent a Ferrari in Italy and find out now!

We strongly suggest you visit Montalcino, famous for its Brunello, one of the best and most appreciated Italian wines in the world. After all, you will need to make more than one toast to someone on your honeymoon! The narrow streets and alleys of Montalcino are truly enchanting and the village is the ideal place to stroll through the labyrinth of delightful arts and crafts shops, cafes, restaurants, and wine bars. Did you know that even the singer Sting has a famous estate in Tuscany? Specifically, it is located in Figline Valdarno and is called the Palagio (and you will soon understand why we mention Sting).

One of the things to do in Italy for a honeymoon in Montalcino is certainly to admire the ceramic tiles that have been on the wall of the Palazzo Comunale since 1992: at every edition of Benvenuto Brunello, a character from the world of art, sport, or showbusiness, lays a ceramic tile showing the latest Brunello vintage and the number of stars assigned. In 2019, it was Alex Zanardi who created it, while in 2018 it was Sting. This year, in the glasses of Benvenuto Brunello 2021 - which due to the pandemic will be "Off" thanks to a format strongly desired and conceived by the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium for its historic and most important event dedicated to new vintages on the market, on the weekends (and Mondays) of March, in safety and in compliance with the rules, emergency permitting, in the prestigious and fascinating fourteenth-century setting of the ancient Cloister of the Museum of Montalcino, where, on March 13-15-20, the tasting sessions, for a maximum of 25 entrances, dedicated to wine lovers and professionals, from 4 to 6 pm - there will be two dream vintages, among the greatest ever, exceptionally "consecutive": the Brunello di Montalcino 2016, judged at the highest levels by the most influential voices of international critics, and the Riserva of another spectacular and unique vintage, the 2015, but also the Rosso di Montalcino 2019, which carves out its part as the "wine of the Millennials", with potential to be discovered.

What are you waiting for? Get onboard a legend immediately, the Ferrari F8 spider, and discover not only what is one of the best places to go to Italy for a honeymoon but also who will lay the celebratory tile for the Benvenuto Brunello 2021 edition!
