The creation of the brand dates back to April 25, 1931, when the engineer and entrepreneur Ferdinand Porsche decided to set up an engineering and design studio. This Austrian studio should become the real soul of the car manufacturer Porsche, which soon collaborated with Ferdinand Anton Porsche's son, nicknamed Ferry, who joined him for 30 years until his death, and then took the place of his father in the family's company. It is not just the Ferrari brand that has a prancing horse on the crest of its logo; actually Porsche has the same symbol (it is actually a mare), because it is the emblem of the city of Stuttgart, where the car manufacturer has its headquarter in Zuffenhausen area. In 1934, during the Nazi period and under Adolf Hitler’s request, Ferdinand worked on a new project: to build a car for the people. Thus, the first famous Volkswagen in history was created (from the German Volks= people and wagen= car), later known as the Beetle. The price of this car had to match the salary of a worker. However, the client required increased technical performance, so it was Ferry in 1948, who worked hard to create the first real Porsche car: the 356. It is known by enthusiasts for being super light due to its manageability, reliability and road endurance.
As a sports car named on the basis of its number of projects, it was produced without interruption until 1966, available as cabriolet or coupé (all Porsche models from then on have always been created in both versions). The 356 is a car that made history, as from then on, the dream started coming true: Slowly but surely, all the cars were designed on personalized demands of customers (clients participating in the rally, racing, sheikhs, and collectors from around the world), which lead to the creation of unique pieces in the pursuit of factory individuality. The special requests program (Sonderwunschprogramm) was a great innovation for the brand, which made changes of the production (ski racks in 1952, custom exhausts and two-tone and special paint) useful for the creation, at the apex of its history, of the Porsche 911 turbo.
