Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder: Experience the thrill of the V10 on a tour through the five most beautiful cities in Southern Italy.

05 October 2021

How about some sunshine and a change of scenery? Then you simply must discover southern Italy. Splendid monuments, landscapes of rare beauty and authentic villages: welcome to southern Italy!

Just to provide some detailed information, the so-called Italian Mezzogiorno (Southern Italy) consists of six regions, plus two islands. Here they are in alphabetical order:

  • Abruzzo
  • Basilicata
  • Calabria
  • Campania
  • Molise
  • Puglia
  • Sardinia
  • Sicily

All eight regions are ideal destinations for a trip between late summer and early autumn when temperatures are milder than in summer and the crowds of tourists are merely a distant memory. We might as well take advantage of this, right?

We have chosen five cities that you can reach behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Evo Huracán Spyder, the evolution of Casa Lamborghini's most successful V10, the result of a process of refinement and consolidation of already existing characteristics and performances, the development of new solutions in terms of performance and design. What clearly distinguishes it is its ability to anticipate the moves and listen to its driver’s wishes. You already feel like you're dreaming, right?

How can you rent a Lamborghini in Italy? It's very simple: just get in touch with us at Italian Luxury Car Hire and tell us your wishes and needs: we will know how to satisfy you. We will have you find your white Huracán Evo Spyder - or in the colour of your choice - directly at your home, in an airport, city centre or even outside the hotel where you are staying.

What are you waiting for? Now that you know how to rent Lamborghini in Italy, you are ready for a tour through five of the most beautiful cities in southern Italy!

Huracán Evo Spyder: heading south to discover some real gems of beauty.

A tour of Southern Italy onboard the new Huracán Evo Spyder begins in Campania, where you can discover three unforgettable places: Naples, Paestum and Castellabate.

There is a very famous saying that goes See Naples and then die. There are two explanations for this expression. Certainly the first is best known, attributed to the famous German writer and playwright Johann Wolfgang von Goethe who, in his letter of 2 March 1787 of his opera Journey to Italy, wrote: «On the position of the city and its wonders so often described and praised, I will not do as the motto says. “See Naples and die!” that's what they say around here». Goethe undertook his first trip to Italy, which lasted almost two years, visiting Trentino, Veneto, Sicily and Naples. And it was this last city that remained in his heart because the warmth of the Neapolitan people is so enveloping. «Here, I also seem like someone else. So there are two possibilities: either I was crazy before I got here, or I certainly am now».

The second explanation of the saying See Naples and then die, however, is a real fable kept in the hearts of the truest Neapolitans: once upon a time, there was a very powerful witch, capable of any type of spell. Her magic was very powerful and everyone believed it was dark, but it wasn't. The witch Raziella was actually a kind-hearted woman who had dedicated her energies to others. At the time, Naples was the choice destination of everyone who suffered for love: broken hearts came to the city and the beauty of these places enchanted them to the point of making them forget the pains of love for the duration of their stay. Unfortunately, the memory of their lost love was always there and when the time came to leave, it resurfaced, more painful than ever. Little was the will to live of these unfortunates, many of whom had been devoured by pain until they died. The matter does not end like this but the suspense is a must: look for a talkative Neapolitan - you will not struggle to find one - and let them tell you the rest of this legend!

As for the visit of the city, there is so much to visit in Naples in terms of architecture, history, cultural activities that we limit ourselves to suggesting a stroll in the middle of the Greek-Roman ruins but also to travel among the Baroque palaces having in mind the scent of a good pizza and the image of an Italian cinema of the 1950s, letting you envelop yourself in the warmth, friendliness, sense of hospitality and generosity of its inhabitants.

After Naples, get back onboard a new Huracán Evo Spyder and head to Paestum and, more specifically, to its Archaeological City. Paestum is located in the province of Salerno, a fraction of the municipality of Capaccio, about 30 km south of Salerno (97 km south of Naples); it is located in the Piana del Sele, near the coast, in the Gulf of Salerno, north of the National Park of Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni. We do not want to spoil anything: just know that Paestum is a site of such importance that it has been recognised by Unesco as a World Heritage Site. Okay, we will give you a clue: what will strike you most is the sight of three majestic temples on a green plain, which reflect a different light depending on the hours and seasons. That's enough, don't ask us anything else so as not to spoil the surprise!

Rather, get back behind the wheel of your Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder and reach the small village of Castellabate, just a short distance from Paestum, in Cilento, part of the private association The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy, which promotes small Italian towns that join with a qualification of "marked historical and artistic interest". A curiosity: the medieval village is so beautiful that it has become the protagonist of the film "Welcome to the South" [original title: Benvenuti al Sud] with the actors Claudio Bisio and Alessandro Siani.

A blue Huracán Evo Spyder: the perfect shade to contrast the white of two other wonderful cities in Southern Italy.

The next two cities in southern Italy where we are about to take you are in Puglia. We thought you should reach Ostuni and Trani with a Huracán Evo Spyder. The first is known as the white city of Salento and boasts a wonderful medieval village, full of narrow streets and houses whitewashed with lime in a maze reminiscent of an Arab casbah. A walk in the old town, called the "land" to distinguish it from the more recent "marina", offers picturesque views of alleys, steep stairways, courtyards and squares overlooked by white houses embellished by geraniums, artisan shops, typical restaurants and small shops.

After having refreshed yourself by eating what is the most famous typical speciality of Ostuni and Puglia, i.e. orecchiette - whose name derives from the fact that when they are created with the tip of the knife, instead of creating a circle they are lengthened, then drag to form a more oval type of orecchietta [small ear lobe] - climb onboard a Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder and head to Trani. We can summarise some views that will leave you breathless. We can anticipate that you will be enchanted by the city Cathedral, the church of Santa Maria Assunta: a splendid example of Apulian Romanesque that stands near the sea, so much so that it seems suspended over the water. It's truly unmissable!
